Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Pastry

Servings: 8

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

28 oz Tnuva Maadanot Pastry Dough

3 tablespoons Tnuva Butter

3 large onions, cut into thin rounds

7 oz Tnuva Goat Cheese

8 sprigs thyme

Milk, to coat

Sea salt

Coarse black pepper

1. Heat a large skillet with butter over low heat. Add the onion slices and fry them for about 20 minutes, until they are golden and caramelized.

2. Pre-heat the oven for 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover a baking pan with baking paper

3. On a clean kitchen surface, roll out the pastry dough. Cut 8 circles of about 3 inches in width

4. Using a fork, score the dough about 1/2 inch from the edges in order to prevent the ends of rising in the oven. Brush the circles with a little bit of milk and back in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden

5. Into each circle, place caramelized onion pieces, goat cheese and thyme leaves.

6. Fill each of the circles. Bake for another 20 minutes until golden. Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm.
