Servings: 10-12
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
NOTE: ALTERNATIVE: Use 2 peeled and thinly sliced pears instead of grapes. Instead of onion, use 2 thinly sliced and fried leeks.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 package Frozen Rolled Short Dough for Savory Pastries
For filling:
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Tnuva Butter
- 3/4 cup Tnuva Kashkaval Cheese, grated
- 1 cup Tnuva Feta Sheep’s Milk Cheese, crumbled
- 15-20 seedless red grapes
- 1/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 sprig of rosemary
- NOTE: Prepare in a 9″ round baking dish.
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the onion. Fry for five minutes, until golden.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cover a baking pan with baking paper.
- Gently roll out the dough and cut into a perfect 11″ circle.
- Transfer the dough into the circular baking dish. Leaving 2-3 inches on the edge, top with the fried onions.
- Spread the cheese, grapes, rosemary and nuts onto the dough, still leaving 2-3 inches on the edge plain.
- Freely fold the 2-3 edges of the clean dough atop the filling. Do not cover all the filling.
- Bake for 30 minutes, until the dough is lightly golden and the cheese is bubbling. Serve immediately.
