Potato Cheese Galette
Potato Cheese Galette
Yield: 2 galettes
Prep Time: 40 minutes
Level: Medium
Ingredients:
1 package Maadanot Frozen Rolled Short Dough for Savory Pastries, thawed
3-4 potatoes
4 tablespoons olive oil
Salt
Filling:
1 container Tnuva Premium Cheese Spread, Original Flavor
1 package Tnuva Muenster Cheese Slices, cut into small pieces
½ teaspoon each of salt and freshly ground pepper
½ bunch of chives, finely chopped
Topping:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 ⁰F. Line 2 baking pans with parchment paper.
2. Slice the potatoes thinly and place in a bowl. Toss together with the olive oil and salt. Arrange the potato slices on the baking pans and bake for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are softened.
3. Remove potatoes from oven and transfer to a dish. Replace the parchment paper on the baking pans.
4. Prepare the filling: combine all ingredients in a bowl.
5. Open out the dough on a floured surface. Divide the dough in half and place each piece on a baking pan. Each piece will make one galette.
6. Divide the filling in half and spread on the dough, leaving a 2” border all around. Arrange half of the potatoes on top of the filling. 7. Brush the potatoes with olive oil. Fold the dough border over the potatoes as shown. Brush the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Repeat with the second piece of dough.
8. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until brown. Serve immediately.
