Vegetarian Beef Empanadas

Who has time to make their own dough? When you’re craving empanadas but don’t want to meat or the hassle of forming your dough, try out this simple and delicious vegetarian recipe.

Prep time: 30 min

Serves: 20 Empanadas

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
4 onions
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon oregano
1 package vegetarian ground beef
1 tablespoon Tomato paste
Empanada Dough or Tnuva Maadanot Pastry Dough, defrosted

Instructions:
1 In frying pan, heat oil with paprika and saute onions until soft. Add chili powder, oregano, and salt. Add fake meat and mix with onions. Add tomato paste and cook until hot.
2 Place a spoonful of stuffing on half of each dough circle. Fold dough over filling. Wet the edge with milk, fold over again and seal. Bake in a 200°C/400°F oven until cooked and lightly browned.
