Black Forest Cheese Brownies

Yield: 16 pieces

Prep time: 20 minutes

Level: Easy

Ingredients:

Brownie Base:
7 ounces dark chocolate
4.5 ounces Tnuva Butter
¾ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash salt
¾ cup flour

Cheese-Cheery Layer:
1 container Tnuva Premium Cheese Spread, Original Flavor, at room temperature
¼ cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons sour cream
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 tablespoons flour
4.5 ounces frozen cherries
2 ounces chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 ⁰F. Grease an 8” square pan.
2. Prepare the brownies: Put the chocolate and butter in a microwave until soft. Mix until smooth. Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt, and whisk until smooth. Fold the flour into the mixture just until incorporated. Pour 2/3 of the mixture into the greased pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
3. Cheese-cherry layer: Put the cheese, cream, sour cream, sugar, egg, egg yolk and vanilla in a medium bowl and mix until combined. Add the flour and mix well. Carefully pour on top of the brownie batter and smooth the top.
4. Spoon the remaining brownie mixture all over the top of the cheese-cherry layer, and swirl with a knife. Sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the top.
5. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the cheese is set but still a little wobbly in the middle. Remove from the oven and let cool. Transfer to the fridge until cold, and then cut into squares.

Variations:
• These brownies lend themselves beautifully to GF. Simply substitute cornstarch for the flour.
• The frozen cherries can be substituted with any frozen fruit of your choice.
