Caramelized Onion Puff Pastry With Goat Cheese

There’s nothing better than melted cheese on caramelized onions. This combination of slightly sweet and savory is a crunchy, crispy treat everyone can enjoy! A perfect dinner for the family or guests, it’s a must during these summer months.

Prep time: 50 min

Serves: 8 sandwiches

Ingredients:
4 Spanish onions
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 sheet of Tnuva Maadanot Pastry Dough, defrosted
4 sprigs of thyme
½ cup Tnuva Goat Cheese, crumbled (optional)

Instructions:
1.Thinly slice the onions. Heat oil in large sauté pan over medium heat. Add onions and salt; cook on low/medium heat for about 15 minutes, or until onions are caramelized and golden brown.
2.Heat oven to 400°F.
3.Roll out puff pastry and shape it into a 9×13 rectangle. Fold edges over to create a crust.
4.Lower oven to 375°F.
5.Place puff pastry on large baking tray with parchment paper. Top with caramelized onions and thyme. Bake for 40 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown.
6.Top with crumbled goat cheese (optional).
