Sweet & Savory Greek Pastry

4 sheets filo pastry, thawed according to package directions
1 egg, beaten
1 block Tnuva Feta Cheese, cut into 4 slices
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon grated lemon zest
Oil for frying
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
8 tablespoons honey


1. Place 1 sheet of filo pastry on a surface. Brush the edges with beaten egg. Place 1 slice of Feta cheese on the bottom part of the sheet. Sprinkle with oregano and lemon zest.
2. Take the edge of the filo sheet that is closest to you and fold over the cheese. Fold over the other sides until the cheese is fully wrapped on all sides to form a “package.” Repeat with the other three filo sheets and Feta cheese slices.
3. Heat the oil in a skillet. Fry the filo “packages” in hot oil on both sides until browned all around. Drain on absorbent paper, and then place on a serving dish.
4. Roast the seeds in the oven or on a dry frying pan for a few minutes until fragrant but not burnt.
5. Spoon honey over each pastry and top with the roasted seeds. Serve immediately.
