Swiss Chard and Bulgarian Cheese Pastry
Servings: 20
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 30-35 minutes
1 package of Tnuva Frozen Puff Pastry Dough
1 onion, finely chopped
1 bundle of Swiss chard, checked, leaves and stems separated and coarsely chopped
1 ¾ cups of Tnuva Bulgarian Feta Light Cheese, grated
Sea salt, according to taste
Ground pepper, according to taste
Olive oil
1. Heat up some olive oil in a large sauté pan. Once hot, fry the onions until golden brown. Add the chard leaves for a few minutes, until they are tender and browned. Remove from the heat.
2. Add the Bulgarian Feta Light Cheese into the pan and stir. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line an oven tray with baking paper.
4. On a clean work surface, evenly roll out the puff pastry dough. Cut pieces into squares about 4 inches by 4 inches in size.
5. In the center of each puff pastry square, place a spoonful of the chard-cheese filling. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
6. Pinch together to opposing corners of the puff pastry square – forming a diamond-like shape to close.
7. Fold the corners of each puff pastry square. Brush the corners lightly with olive oil.
8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the pastries are golden browned. Serve hot.
