Za’atar Cheese Roses

Za’atar Cheese Roses

Yield: 6 – 8 servings

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
1 package Maadanot Turkish Phyllo Dough, thawed
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons za’atar spice
Filling:
1 container Tnuva Feta Sheep’s Milk Cheese, crumbled
3 slices Tnuva Muenster Cheese, cut into small pieces
1 container Tnuva Quark Creamy Soft Cheese 5%
½ tablespoon za’atar

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350⁰F.
2. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
3. Combine all the filling ingredients. Spread on one of the dough halves. Cover with the rest of the dough and press the edges closed with your fingers.
4. Using a very sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the dough into ribbons that are about 1 inch wide.
5. Twist each ribbon, being careful not to let the filling fall out, and then roll into a spiral shape to form a “rose.” Place on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle za’atar on top.
6. Bake for about 25 minutes or until nicely browned.
7. Serve hot alongside Tnuvah Labaneh sprinkled with olive oil and paprika.
